Description

Size 2 to 2.5 cm. A striking insect with black and yellowy-orange banding.

Habitat

Associated with sandy soils, old gravel/sand workings even old rabbit borrows, though sometimes on peats or bare calcareous soils.

April to October.

Widespread but very local in England and Wales.
