Nephrotoma flavipalpis
This species has a dark stigma on the wings, black and yellow bands on abdomen, yellow and black thorax and a mainly yellow head.
It prefers woods and hedges where there is plenty of shelter.
July to October
Fairly frequent and widespread in Britain
Local in Leicestershire and Rutland.
