Oxyethira flavicornis
Description
A very small (5 mm) moth-like micro caddis with feathery looking wings that have a noticeable pale blotch.

Habitat
Lakes and large ponds.
When to see it
May and June.
UK Status
Widespread and common in Britain.
VC55 Status
Uncommon but possibly under recorded in VC55 - the Sapcote record of 6.5.2011 is thought to be only the second record for this species in Leicestershire and Rutland, the first coming from Kilby in 1962.
