Podabrus alpinus has a distinctive head shape with bulging eyes and a relatively long neck.
Likes mixed, well wooded areas, and is attracted to Pine.
Adults are active during June July and August
Fairly frequent and widespread in Britain, except in the east and south-west of England.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 20 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
