Puccinia lagenophorae
Puccinia lagenophorae is a bright orange rust fungus which forms on the stems and leaves of Common Groundsel (Senecio vulgaris) causing swelling. It may also be found on Oxford Ragwort (Senecio squalidus). The orange patches bear the aecia, which appear as cup like structures. In the autumn dark telia may sometimes appear amongst the orange aecia.

Usually observed in spring and summer.
Originally of Australian origin, and only known in the UK since 1961. It is now widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Believed to be fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
