Puccinia lapsanae

Description

Puccinia lapsanae is a gall fungus affecting Nipplewort (Lapsana communis), particularly very young plants. Both the leaf blades and petioles may become grossly distorted, with both sides having reddish purple blisters with orange aecia and spermogonia.  Telia and uredinia are present later.

UK Status

It is widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
