Puccinia phragmitis


    The fungus Puccinia phragmitis affects Rumex species causing reddish purple blotches with grey cup shaped clusters. Later stages occur on Phragmites; the uredinia rupture the upper and lower surfaces of leaves causing dark brown patches often surrounded by an area of yellowing of the leaf.
