Soronia grisea


    A small (3.5 to 5.5 mm) beetle, related to the common pollen beetle. It has a distinctive mottled patterning of brown and paler straw colour.

    Fairly widespread in the southern half of Britain, but often rather local.

    VC55 Status

    Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were approximately 18 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
