African Goose - Anser cygnoides x
Domesticated crosses from the wild Swan Goose of East Asia. The African Goose is stockier and has a dewlap compared to the similar Chinese Goose. It is generally flightless so birds encountered in the wild are individuals released from captivity.
Lakes and reservoirs.
All year round.
Widespread in Britain encountered as an escape from domestic stock.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
