A crust forming, cracking lichen which can be olive-green or shades of brown, and looking like dried mud.

On hard limestones, concrete, mortar of walls and other calcareous substrates.

UK Status
Widespread and common in most of England and Wales, less well recorded in Scotland.

Frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
