Description

Short to medium greyish, erect plant. Leaves oval to triangular, the upper ones fused around the stem. Flowers yellow, 8 to 15 mm with 6 to 8 petal lobes in lax, branched clusters.

Grassland, dunes and rocky places on calcareous soils.

Infrequent and local but widely distributed in England up to southern Scotland, often coastal in Wales.

VC55 Status

Quite rare in Leicestershire + Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 3 of the 617 tetrads
