Great Yellow-cress - Rorippa amphibia

Medium to tall plant with runners. Lower leaves toothed, sometimes pinnately lobed and short stalked, upper leaves lanceolate, unstalked. Flowers bright yellow, 5 to 6 mm, petals twice as long as sepals.

Margins of rivers, canals and reservoirs and occasionally in marshes and pond margins.

June to August.

Perennial.

Widespread in southern Britain less frequent elsewhere.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 106 of the 617 tetrads.

In the current Checklist (Jeeves, 2011) it is listed as Native, locally frequent
