Description

A crusty cream to pale grey thallus, often forming distinct, rounded colonies on smooth barked trees. Apothecia are buff to chestnut brown, but turning jade green when wet.

A characteristic early coloniser of young, planted, semi-urban trees, as in supermarket car-parks.

All year round.

Widespread and quite common in Britain.
