Bracken Bug - Monalocoris filicis
A small bug (length only 2 to 3 mm). The rich brown colouring and the orange head are quite distinctive. This species is always macropterous.
Found on Bracken and other ferns.
All year round.
Feeds primarily on the sporangia of ferns.
Local but sometimes abundant where found.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
