Dasineura rosae
The larvae of the midge Dasineura rosae causes galls on the leaves of various rose (Rosa) species. The leaflet is folded upwards along the main vein, thickened and pod like. This fold contains many larvae.
Where the host species occur.
Galls visible in summer and early autumn.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
