Oncopsis flavicollis
Length 4.5 to 5.5 mm. Rather variable in appearance so identification can be complex. Male usually with strong dark markings on the face; intraocular band reaches both eyes; discoidal spots present. Female very variable with several colour forms, although the shape of the ovipositor is diagnostic. Nymphs are also very variable in colour and markings.
Can only be identified by examination of internal genital structure.
Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify this species. A photograph alone is not normally sufficient because key features are not obvious and there are one or more similar species.
