Bitter Chocolate Rust - Uromyces ficariae


    A rust fungus affecting Lesser Celandine (Ficaria verna). The rust is often a dark chocolate brown, particularly on the underside of the leaves, giving rise to the common name.

    May be encountered wherever Lesser Celandine (Ficaria verna) is present.

    Spring and early summer.
