Clustered Brittlestem - Psathyrella multipedata
The pale cream to darker beige cap is usually no more than 3 cm. Stems (stipes) are white, and much longer than cap diameter.
In scrub and woods also on lawns.
Found in summer and autumn
This fungus grows in dense tufts with numerous stems joined at the base.
Widespread in England but not particularly common, less well recorded from other parts of Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
