A lichenicolous fungus with orange sclerotia found on dead and dying areas of the host thallus; sexual stage not recorded in Britain.

Described as a virulent parasite of corticolous Physcia spp., occasionally also attacking neighbouring thalli of other lichens.
Quite widespread in Britain but not particularly well recorded.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
