Eyed Flat-backed Millipede - Nanogona polydesmoides
It has rounded lobes on each side of the plates along its back, each with a short spine pointing backwards.
Typically found in wet meadows and woodland where it lives in leaf litter and under logs. It has also been found in caves.
All year round but especially in autumn and winter.
This is a fairly frequent and widespread species in Britain, but our population is of international importance.
Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
