Pellitory-of-the-Wall - Parietaria judaica
Short to medium much branched herb with spreading stems. Leaves alternate, elliptical, untoothed and short stalked to 5 cm. Flowers small, greenish with yellow stamens in clusters at base of leaves, each four parted.
Walls, hedgebanks and stony places on well drained soil.
June to October.
Widespread in England, mainly coastal in Wales and scarce in Scotland.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland. In the 1979 Flora survey of Leicestershire it was found in 56 of the 617 tetrads.
