Arthonia radiata

Description

A smooth, greyish white crusted lichen with embedded black areas that are irregularly shaped and typically 1 to 2 mm in diameter.

On nutrient rich, smooth bark and twigs on a variety of species but a characteristic species on Ash.

Particularly associated with Ash.

UK Status

Widespread and quite common, especially in western and northern Britain.
