Periwinkle Rust - Puccinia vincae
A rust fungus affecting Greater Periwinkle (Vinca major). Uredinia brown; spores pear-shaped with 3 ± equatorial pores. Telia dark brown; spores two-celled. The fungus is systemic; infested shoots remain sterile and stand erect, the leaves are abnormally small.

Mainly occurs on Vinca major, not on Vinca minor.

It seems to be widespread in England and Wales but is not well recorded.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
