Large Ivy Twist
Wingspan 20-29 mm. This is one of the largest of the Tortricidae and has boldly spotted grey-brown wings.
Mainly suburban habitats such as parks and gardens
The adults fly at night during June and July
The larvae feed on a variety of trees and shrubs, showing a preference for Ivy
Fairly frequent and found throughout most of Britain. In the Butterfly Conservation’s Microlepidoptera Report 2011 this species was classified as common.
Quite common in Leicestershire and Rutland. L&R Moth Group status = A (common and resident)
