Description

Length 9 to 11 mm. This is a large orange-brown stiltbug.

Habitat

It is a woodland species associated with Enchanter's-nightshade.

When to see it

Adult: All year.

Life History

Feeds on the leaves of Enchanter's-nightshade. Adults overwinter, mating in the early summer. The new generation is complete by August.

UK Status

Found throughout much of southern Britain including Wales, although absent from Ireland.

VC55 Status

Infrequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
