Lake Olive - Cloeon simile
There are two species of Cloeon mayflies in Britain: C. dipterum and C. simile. They are best distinguished by their wing venation.
Around still waters with C. simile preferring larger expanses of water and is seldom found in small pools where C. dipterum is more likely to occur.
Peak in July and August.
Common and widespread in Britain.
Common in Leicestershire and Rutland.
